| The Board and staff of the
Cape Fear River Assembly express great appreciation to each
of the individuals, organizations, and agencies that have
contributed to the Assembly's success. Although it is not
possible to name all of the Assembly's supporters, following
is an example of some of those that have played an important
role |
|
The
continuing support of the CFRA's more than 400 Individual
Members is essential to the Assembly's continued success.
The grass-roots support of those members, and many others
involved through the efforts of other organizations such
as the Haw River Assembly, Deep River Coalition, Sandhills
Area Land Trust, Piedmont Land Conservancy, and Triangle
Land Conservancy, has resulted in many important protection
efforts throughout the Cape Fear River Basin |

The
support and involvement of the Lower Cape Fear River Program,
the Middle Cape Fear River Basin Association, and the Upper
Cape Fear River Basin Association have greatly helped to
further the Assembly's objectives, and to implement the monitoring
and research programs envisioned by the Assembly. |

Through the technical support of the North Carolina Department
of Environment and Natural Resources, in particular the
Division of Water Quality and the Division of Water Resources,
the Assembly has a better understanding of current resource
conditions and sources and causes of water resource problems
throughout the Cape Fear River Basin, as well as a greater
awareness of the water resources planning, management and
protection programs and efforts currently underway throughout
the basin.

NC Division of Community Assistance
|
The Division of Community Assistance provided exceptional guidance
to the Cape Fear River Assembly in its development of a strategic
plan. The completion of this tool for the future was largely
made possible through the assistance of this division's well
trained, professional staff.

|
Finally, the Cape Fear River Assembly
also acknowledges the strong commitment of the North Carolina
General Assembly, which has provided significant financial
support for the Assembly's ongoing monitoring and research
projects.
